The SOSC hosts an informal action pistol match each month. There are no specific equipment requirements or fixed rule sets, so whether you’re an IDPA Grand Master or a novice looking to try something new, you’ll be welcome. Any type of handgun is allowed: automatic or revolver, centerfire or rimfire. A holster and at least three magazines or speedloaders are strongly recommended. We charge $10 per person to cover the cost of targets and other equipment.
Match time: Fourth Saturday of the month at 10:00 AM, on the cone range.

Will there be an action pistol match Feb 6th?
Yes, there will. Starting at 10 AM.
How long does the match usually take?
Usually at least two hours, sometimes three or four. Depends on how many people show up and when people start running out of ammo. The number of stages isn’t fixed, but I would recommend bringing at least 200 rounds.
I was told about this range by a friend of mine, who is also a member. I am interested in a membership but I would like to see the range first. I would like to shoot in the pistol competition which I believe is the 30th of this month.
My friend is not 100% sure he will be able to attend and have me as his guest. Would there be any workers there who be willing to host me? Do you allow guests for trial purposes?
Thank you
The action pistol matches are on the 4th Saturday of each month, so the September match was on the 23rd, last weekend. Attendance has been very poor this year, though, so we may stop running them. The smallbore and high power rifle matches are run on the 1st Saturday and 3rd Sunday of each month, and are open to the public, so you could stop by then to see the range. Those are pretty much the only times there’s guaranteed to be someone there, but someone would probably be willing to tell you about the range. We don’t have any kind of trial membership; you either have to be a member or come with a member as their guest.
Are you open to public for shooting
The range is generally for club members only. Non-members are welcome to compete in our monthly matches, but that’s the only exception.
