Southern Oklahoma Sportsman's Club, Inc.

The annual SOSC banquet is being held on Saturday, December 10, at the First United Methodist Church in Davis.  Dinner will begin at 6:30 PM, and will feature three kinds of barbeque from Smokin’ Joe’s, along with baked beans, coleslaw, and other sides.  The club will provide drinks, plates, silverware, etc.  We do ask that each family bring a dessert to share.

The cost is $12 for each adult, and $10 for each child 12 and under.  We’ll also be running a Dirty Santa, so bring a gift if you want to participate (price limit about $10).  If you would like to donate a door prize, or can persuade a retailer to provide one, you’re certainly welcome to do so.

We need to know in advance how many people will be attending, so contact Ben Randall by December 3 and let him know how many adults and kids you’ll be bringing.

The club will be hosting a Deer Season Sight-In Day this Saturday, November 12 from 12:00 – 3:00 PM.  This event is open to the public, so stop in and check your zero before heading out on opening day.  Experienced shooters will be on hand to help you get on target.

There is a club work day scheduled for Saturday the 12th.  Help out with Sight-In Day, or help remove some trees from the west end of the range in preparation for the berm extension.  The tree work will begin at 1:00 PM.  Bring your chainsaw if you have one, or just help haul off the wood.  There’s enough to keep everyone busy.

At 9:00 AM Saturday there will also be an air pistol match taking place in the clubhouse.  If you’re interested but don’t have your own air pistol, there will be a small number of guns available for you to borrow.  Cost is $10 per relay.

The Southern Oklahoma Sportsman’s Club will be holding its annual Ladies and Kids Fun Shoot next Saturday, October 2, from 9:00 AM – 2:00 PM.  Come on out to the club and learn the basics of rifle, pistol, and shotgun shooting.  Club members are encouraged to help run the shoot, and doing so will count as a work day.
